Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth

CORRECTLY HANDLE THE WORD OF TRUTH, THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT Hebrews 4:12, “For the Word of God is living and active.   Sharper than any double-edged sword.   It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” Ephesians 6:17, “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” 2 Timothy 2:15, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of truth.” Correctly handled, the Sword of the Spirit/Word of God/Word of Truth can lead a person to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and correct and encourage those who belong to Christ.   Mishandling the Sword of the Spirit can result in preaching a fal

There are many ideas out there about who Jesus is, and there are many ideas about how a person is saved from God’s wrath.   The Scriptures make these issues clear.   It is man who has made these issues confusing.   Let’s first find out what the Scriptures say about the identity of Jesus, and then find out what the Scriptures say about how a person is saved from God’s wrath.
